2011 General Assembly Elections are November 8th!
The Playing Field
Since 2007, the State Senate has been where pro-life efforts have been thwarted time after time. Eight years of pro-abortion governors didn’t advance our agenda either. Thankfully, we have had several successes since Gov. McDonnell’s inauguration thanks to savvy procedural moves, two Democratic senators who vote with us, a unified Republican Senate caucus on those particular issues and a pro-life Lt. Governor who cast the tiebreaking vote on the clinic regulations bill.
But many more important pro-life bills have been sent to a pro-abortion dominated committee by Senate Majority Leader Dick Saslaw never to see the light of day.
Having a committed pro-life governor has allowed us to make it harder and less lucrative for abortionists to kill unborn babies. A pro-life State Senate, acting on VSHL’s ambitious agenda, will place Virginia among the national leaders in protecting the sanctity of human life.
We understand that our off-year cycle creates a unique opportunity for us to defeat pro-abortion incumbents in the State Senate and to protect and grow our majority in the House of Delegates. Our success on November 8th will determine whether pro-life legislation will be enacted into law during the next sessions, as well as our long-term effectiveness advancing Life in Richmond.
Please volunteer and donate today so we can declare another victory on behalf of the unborn, elderly, and
medically-dependent on November 8th. Thank you for your ongoing support for the Virginia Society for Human Life’s Political Action Committee.
